Detail of arch, Meow Wolf, Santa Fe NM |
Ans.: No idea, sorry. Indoor theme park? Art gallery? Interactive installation? Immersive mockumentary?
Meow?
Meow?
Arch, or possibly question mark, Meow Wolf. |
Wristbands that actually take you to another universe. So seldom the case. |
To try and creep up on it: when Simon showed me this article in April last year, we were immediately in agreement that we had to go to New Mexico. We had no idea what Meow Wolf was then, either, just a few visuals and a funny feeling.
It's an astounding experience, fractally rich and dense. We stayed a couple of hours, but I think it would be amazing to go back after they reopen from their imminent renovation closure, hopefully on a quieter day, and spend the whole day.
Because, unfortunately, we were possibly not the only people who heard about it ...
Here's part of the queue before opening time. When we left it was just as long.
The following boxed selection:
Very successfully conveys | Somewhat conveys | Does not at all convey |
Weirdness (spoilt for choice, actually) | Crowdedness | Multifaceted narrative complexity |
Wabisabi | Intricacy | The noise, my god. |
Visual awesometasticness | Sheer amount of effort | How much I want to go back |
